Another In The Fire from May 19, 2019

On Sunday May 19th, Pastor Jody preached on “Life in the Fire” and the worship band sang Another in the Fire in our Baker Center worship services. Hillsong released a song called Another in the Fire which represents hope through trials in life. Another in the Fire simply means God is with you in the fire even when someone may feel alone. Just like in the book of Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar saw not three but four men standing in the fire. The fourth man was Jesus who was protecting the three men, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, who were thrown in the fire to be killed. The fire did not kill them instead it spread the gospel. Just like the fire may feel like it is all consuming, the trials are a testing of faith which produces perseverance (James 1:30).
