WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES

Tuesday Morning Study

Ladies, you are invited to join us as we study the book of 2 Samuel.  In order for us to have enough materials available, please register HERE ONLINE or contact Marsha Spangler at (717) 264- 4651. The study will continue each Tuesday morning during the school year, ending at the end of April. The study is led by Deb Baker and Joyce Cooper.

Wednesday Evening Study: James

All women are invited to an 11-week study of the New Testament Book of James.  The study will begin on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00 pm. In this intermediate level study, women will dig deeper into Scripture using the “5 Ps of Sound Study” as outlined in the book, Women of the Word, by Jen Wilkin. Each participant’s daily study at home will support the class learning space which includes small group discussions and prayer time. The goal is for women to become increasingly confident in handling the Word, to increase in biblical literacy, and to grow as disciples of Jesus. Carol Kirkpatrick & Jan Wolfe will facilitate. Please sign up HERE.

Thursday Morning Study

This group meets every other week through June 20, from 8:00 – 9:15 am in M9. They will finish up a Beth Moore Study on the book of James in September and October. Then they will begin Stormie Omartian’s study called Lead Me, Holy Spirit for the rest of the year. Facilitated by Pat Bowers and Sharon Love. Questions, contact Sharon.

WOMEN’S NIGHT OF PRAYER & FELLOWSHIP

Ladies, you’re invited to an hour of prayer and multi-generational fellowship for all women of King Street ages 16+. We will meet on the second Thursday of each month (including November 14 December 12) from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Middle School Room.  Our purpose is:

  • to gather in simple worship where we sing simple, Christ-centered songs that magnify God and grow our knowledge and love for Him
  • to hear a short exhortation that affirms orthodox, historic Christian beliefs and encourages the pursuit of Christlikeness
  • to humbly bring all of our requests to the Lord; to pray for steadfastness as The Church eagerly awaits Christ’s return
  • to have a space that fosters multigenerational community and discipleship like Titus 2— holding each other accountable before God while affirming and honoring one another as sisters in Christ, and as spiritual mothers and daughters in the faith.

WOMEN OF WORTH
(Widows’ Ministry)

This ministry provides opportunities for fellowship to our ladies who have lost a spouse.  They also provide connections to our Men to Mend teams, who make small home repairs and safety checks.  Contact the church office for more information.

CO-ED BIBLE STUDIES

BibleTalk

Join us this Fall for BibleTalk’s first co-ed class! The Power of Inductive Bible Study: A Workshop for Spiritual Growth will meet on Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 pm, from September 10-November 19 in room M4.  The class is a deep dive into understanding and applying Scripture using what Bible teacher Jen Wilkin calls, “the best method for studying the Bible.” It’s an 11-week study designed to help you encounter the living Word on a personal level and gain deeper insight into the Lord’s will for your life. Led by Eloisa Rice.

You will be required to do individual work before the Tuesday evening meetings. The goal is for you to experience Jesus through the pages of God’s Word with other brothers and sisters who want to love God not just with their hearts but also with their MINDS.  Space is limited!  Sign up HERE.

“Grow in His Word” – Postponed until February

This study is for both men and women, and covers the Old Testament from Genesis to Esther. Using Dennis Miller’s “Grow in His Word” materials, we will examine the history of God’s chosen people in a series of thirteen lessons. If you are struggling with understanding the “big picture” or are curious about the flow of the Bible, then this study is for you.  This study does involve preparation work for each week’s lesson.  Classes will be offered in February; watch for details.  Adam Leeper will facilitate the class.

In order for us to have the needed materials available, please register HERE or call the church office (717-264-4651).
