ENGAGING AND BLESSING

Engaging and blessing our community with the Gospel is our mission at King Street Church (KSC).  You will see this passion portrayed in a wide variety of local and international ministries.  We participate in a variety of internal ministries — those that are run by our own staff and parishioners — as well as local partners — programs in the community that share our goals and values (read more).  For questions about these or any other ministries, email Adam Keath, Pastor of Restoration & Recovery or call (717) 264-4651.

After-School Program:  Every Monday and Tuesday from 4-6 pm during the school year, about 25 children from Ben Chambers Elementary gather at KSC for homework help, a warm meal, and friendly interaction.  Through the leadership of Jeanie Helman, Children’s Outreach Coordinator, and a wide variety of volunteers, we show the love of Jesus in a unique way, right where we live.

Agape English Program:  Each week, we love our neighbors by helping them to learn English— all for the glory of God.  Helpers don’t have to be a teacher to serve, and you definitely don’t have to know a foreign language.  Just be friendly!  There are many chances to serve on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays in our Computer Lab, Tutoring Sessions, Conversation Class, Bible Study group or our Large Group Class. Visit Service Central or email Sue Marshall to learn more.

Basketball Ministry:  Every year we participate in the Chambersburg Recreation Department’s Church League basketball program (grades 9-12.)  We welcome students from the community onto our teams, many of whom do not know Jesus.  Our basketball teams allow us to build relationships with the students and share the love of Christ with them.

Deacons Ministry:  KSC is blessed to have a team of deacons that assist in distributing monies to those in need in our church.  Funds come through donations.  If a church member or long-term attender should wish to apply for financial assistance, they can pick up an application in the church office.

Once More Ministries:  This ministry shares the love of Jesus and builds relationships by providing toiletries to those in need in our community.  They collect toiletry donations year-round in bins located in the church lobbies.  The ministry is led by Jim Washabaugh and a team of volunteers.  For more information or to inquire about volunteering, email omm@kschurch.org

Orphan Care & Adoption Ministry:    This group comes alongside families within KSC who are adopting children, and supports them with prayer, concern, and financial assistance.  (Grant Applications are available on the Information Wall.) They also offer an Adoptive & Foster Support group for adoptive and foster parents, no matter where you are in the process. For more information, contact Pastor Adam Keath or email adoption@kschurch.org.
