ENGAGING AND BLESSING

Engaging and blessing our community with the Gospel is our mission at King Street Church (KSC).  You will see this passion portrayed in a wide variety of local and international ministries.  We participate in a variety of internal ministries — those that are run by our own staff and parishioners — as well as local partners — programs in the community that share our goals and values (read more).  For questions about these or any other ministries, contact Pastor Don Baker at (717) 264-4651 or email: [email protected]

After-School Program:  Every Monday and Tuesday from 4-6 pm during the school year, about 25 children from Ben Chambers Elementary gather at KSC for homework help, a warm meal, and friendly interaction.  Through the leadership of Jeanie Helman, Children’s Outreach Coordinator, and a wide variety of volunteers, we show the love of Jesus in a unique way, right where we live.

Agape English Program:  Each Saturday at 5:00 pm we love our neighbors by helping them to learn English— all for the glory of God.  Helpers don’t have to be a teacher to serve, and you definitely don’t have to know a foreign language.  Just be friendly!  Contact Sue Marshall to learn more: [email protected]

Basketball Ministry:  Every year we participate in the Chambersburg Recreation Department’s Church League basketball program (grades 9-12.)  We welcome students from the community onto our teams, many of whom do not know Christ as their Savior.  Our basketball teams allow us to build relationships with the students and share the love of Christ with them.  Contact Matt Gish to learn more: [email protected]

Deacons Ministry:  KSC is blessed to have a team of deacons that assist in distributing monies to those in need in our church.  Funds come through donations.  If a church member or long-term attender should wish to apply for financial assistance, they can pick up an application in the church office.

Once More Ministries:  This ministry shares the love of Jesus and builds relationships by providing toiletries to those in need in Franklin County.  The ministry is led by Tracy Mentzer and Dixie Cantrell.  The church collects toiletries in the lobbies in February, May, August, and November.  For more information, email [email protected]

Orphan Care & Adoption Ministry:    This group comes alongside families within KSC who are adopting children, and supports them with prayer, concern, and financial assistance.  (Grant Applications are available on the Information Wall.) They also offer an Adoptive Support group for adoptive and foster parents, no matter where you are in the process.
