Adoption & Orphan Care Ministry:
Our mission is to come alongside families who are accepting God’s call to adopt or foster and to support them through prayer, education, encouragement, and financial grants.
Our focus is not only adoption, but foster care support no matter where you are in the process (contemplating, in process, recent adoption, current foster care, or been-there-done-that). Our support group is for those who are part of the King Street Church community, as well as the local Chambersburg community.
Adoptive/Foster Family Support Group: Everyone is welcome!
This group provides encouragement for those in the adoptive or foster care journey, no matter where you are in the process. We invite parents, grandparents, uncles/aunts, friends — anyone who is invested in caring for or supporting a family on their journey of caring for orphans or vulnerable children.
We usually meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (Sept – May) at 6:00 pm in M27. We enjoy a meal together from 6-6:30 pm. Then from 6:30-8, we share struggles, victories and prayer requests together. Childcare is provided. Occasionally the schedule changes and we sometimes plan special events.

Ways to Help:
- PRAY: We encourage the KSC community to lift up orphans, vulnerable children, and families in prayer.
- ENGAGE: Gather with current and future adoptive parents to support, encourage, and pray for each other; supply helpful resources and provide financial grants for adoption expenses.
- GIVE: The cost of adopting a child ranges from $20,000 – $45,000 (according to Google). Donations given to the church Adoption Fund provide vital financial help to those seeking to invite a child into their lives. You can always mark your check or offering envelope for “ADOPTION FUND.” Also, you can give online or by texting GIVE to (717) 401-7777.
