The Porch is the young adult ministry at King Street Church. We welcome all young adults to get connected, even if you’re not an attender of King Street Church. We come from different backgrounds and life experiences, but what we share is a desire to build authentic community and grow in our faith and affection for Jesus Christ (Phil. 2:1-11).
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in the Student Ministry Center from 7-9PM; enter through the Baker Center lobby (Door #4 and go down the stairs). At these gatherings, we seek to build relationships, share life together, and gain practical and applicable insight from God’s Word to apply to our lives.
We also have opportunities to build deeper community in gender-specific discipleship groups on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. In addition to community, the main focus of these groups is to dig into God’s Word and study other Biblical-centered books & devotionals that will help us to become more equipped disciples of Jesus Christ! The group meeting locations can change, so if you are interested in joining a group: contact the email address listed below.
Through September, during our 1st & 3rd Thursday large gatherings, we are doing a study called “Ascend.” We all want to reach our maximum potential. There is something God put in us that makes us want to strive for excellence. That is no different for our faith. We want to know God deeper and set out on the path Christ has for us. But we need wisdom and guidance of how to navigate this difficult life so we can can know God completely. These lessons are about becoming confident in who Christ is and why we can trust Him as we pursue becoming the person we were created to be.

We present opportunities for young adults to volunteer their time in Jesus’ name. Here are some ways to SERVE: volunteer at KSC, in the local community, and international missions.
Also, we will hold serving events throughout the year that are great opportunities to be the hands & feet of Christ in the local community, build relationships, and sharpen our focus on seeing God’s Kingdom active & growing in the world.
