The Street Student Ministry exists to engage and bless students and their families in our community with the Gospel. We do this by helping students (grades 6-12) connect with Christ and each other, grow in Christ, and serve and share Christ. The students meet regularly and enjoy special events together.
Host Family Needed!
The Street Student Ministry will be hosting a Prime intern from Huntington University this coming May! The Prime internship is an intensive 7 month immersion into ministry as a capstone to their education. Our Prime student, Xavier, is a Senior at Huntington. We as a church are responsible for setting Xavier up with housing for duration of the internship, from May 28-December 28. Would you or someone you know in our congregation be able to partner with us in providing housing for Xavier? He will need his own bedroom and ideally be able to share some meals with you and/or your family. Please contact Pastor Matt Gish if you are able to help in this way or if you have questions.
We are excited for another year at Summer Sneak! Click HERE to register!
Students who are completing grades 8-12 are invited to join us for 5 days at the beginning of summer as we travel to Cape Henlopen State Park, in Lewes, Delaware on June 14-18. This will be a great way to wrap up a school year of hard work and let the stress of the year wash away with the ocean waves. This week could be the highlight of your summer, maybe even your life. We’ll be staying in bunkhouses at Cape Henlopen State Park, hit the boardwalk, play some beach games, enjoy campfires, worship, and hear teaching from God’s Word. Registration deadline is May 29.
Chambersburg Project will take place on July 10-15 for students in grades 6-12. Students will participate in a week long service project that assists families in our local community. This year, programming and overnight accommodations will be at the Career Magnet School. You can register to participate here. Deadline to register is June 1.
Summer Street Meetings
Students in grades 6-12 are invited to the Student Ministry Center for games, worship, a message, and ice cream! Our summer meetings begin at 6:30 and end around 8:00 pm at the Ice Cream Station, where parents can pick up the students. The upcoming meetings are June 8, June 22, July 6, July 27, and August 10.
SUNDAY: GPS (Sunday School)
9:30 and 11:00 am: Students will meet in the Student Ministry Center for announcements and then will move into their class time. We have separate classes for Middle and High School.
WEDNESDAY: Street Meeting
7:00-8:30 pm: From September through April, we meet together each Wednesday night in both the Middle School Area and the Student Ministry Center. These are high energy and engaging meetings. Doors open at 6:45 pm for snacks and hanging out with friends. A typical evening includes: games, worship, a message from God’s Word, and breaking off for a small group discussion (separated by grade and gender).
Road Crew: ADULT LEADERS
Our team is called the “Road Crew.” It is made up of adults from King Street Church who love God and love students. Each member of our Road Crew has received background clearances, and had an interview with the student ministry pastors. If you are interested in joining or want more information, contact Lauren Dukehart, Student Ministry Administrative Assistant, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
