Lenten Prayer Service: BIBLE READING
On Wednesday, April 9, we gathered in the Sanctuary for our fourth Lenten Prayer Service. Pastor Steve Flint led a short study on the spiritual practice of reading the Bible.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Benefits of Reading the Bible:
- It helps you learn who God is.
- It helps us grow closer to God as you read His story.
- It allows God to speak to us through His living Word and you grow spiritually.

Prayer Focus:
One of our church elders, Eldon Lehman, then led in prayer for KSC special Easter services, the guests who will attend on Easter, Pastor Aaron’s message, for people to come to faith in Christ, Pastor Aaron and his family as they transition to Chambersburg .
The Discipline in Practice:
As an act of community and collective participation in this discipline we are invited to engage in Bible reading, particularly passages from the Gospels which include the final days of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Consider Matthew 21-28, Mark 11-16, Luke 19-24, John 12-21. You may already read daily as part of your regular devotions, but please be intentional to read passages in this next week that focus on the last days of Christ. .
