Experience & Encounter
These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.
- Are you currently hearing a word from the Lord but going in the opposite direction? Who has God brought around you to help you turn? Jonah ends on a cliff-hanger. We don’t know how he will respond. How will you?
- God is the faithful prophet to the faithless prophet. Has there ever been a time when God got hold of your heart? When was God a prophet to you? How was God the prophet?
- Selfish anger kills. It says, “You deserve the consequences that I’ve been spared.” Do you have selfish anger? Christ comes to us to deal with it. How can you get into the presence of Christ this week?

Today we will observe the Lord’s Supper in each of our worship services. Pre-packaged elements are available at the entrance to each venue. If you are watching online, we encourage you to prepare your elements at home so that you can join us. Our communion offering will support the Agape English Ministry, which serves our neighbors by teaching the English language.
Spotlight on Local Outreach
Today we welcome Mark Story from Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County. During our Local Outreach Partner interview, Tom Knepper, chairperson of our Local Outreach Commission, will talk with Mark about Habitat’s work alongside local families to make affordable homeownership possible through volunteer labor, community support, and strategic partnerships. By bringing people together to build homes and hope, Habitat is helping families throughout Franklin County create brighter futures and stronger communities. Dealing with Cancer?
This summer, Wayne Sheppard will facilitate a teaching and discussion group for people going through cancer and their caregivers. The group will meet on Friday evenings for one hour on June 19, July 24, and July 31, in the Ministry Center (C8). If you are interested in participating, or for more information, contact Marsha Spangler or call the church office at (717) 264-4651.
Pray for Our Students
Yesterday a team of students and leaders traveled to Guatemala to serve at Eagle’s Nest Children’s Home. Another team will go next week. Please be praying that God will work in the lives of the students, and use them to bless the children and workers at Eagle’s Nest.
Children’s Musical
This summer, we are offering a children’s musical at KSC! The Bible Tells Me So Show! invites children who have completed kindergarten through seventh grade—and volunteers of all ages—to share the Gospel through music, storytelling, and creative expression. This beloved musical offers a fun and meaningful intergenerational opportunity, with roles for singers, speaking parts, and many behind-the-scenes helpers. Practices begin in July, with a Labor Day weekend performance planned for Sunday afternoon, September 6. For details or to get involved, text Liz Brown at (717) 816-1368 or email her.
PrimeTimer Reminder
For everyone signed up for the Sight & Sound trip to see Joshua, don’t forget to meet at 7:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, at the Weis Market on Wayne Avenue in Chambersburg. We look forward to a great day together!
Vacation Bible School
VBS is June 21-24 for kids age 4 through the completion of 5th grade. Kingdom Quest is an immersive, adventure-style VBS that takes kids on a journey through imaginative worlds to discover what it means to follow Jesus and live in God’s kingdom. It focuses on the story of Peter to teach courage and faith, featuring high-energy worship, daily challenges, and interactive themes. For all things VBS — registration, volunteering, and donating — visit the tables in the lobbies or our VBS page!
- Decorating Days: Help us decorate the church for VBS! We need many hands (and some willing to climb on ladders!) to transform our building into a world of video games, quests, and fantastical adventures! This week is crunch time and we could use volunteer help! On Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll be hanging decorations around the church, and on Thursday we will prepare crew bags and organize supplies in our rooms.
* Tuesday, June 16, 6-9 pm
* Wednesday, June 17, 9 am-4 pm (lunch is provided)
* Thursday, June 18, 10 am-4 pm (lunch is provided) - Registration: Sign up for kids aged 4 through the completion of 5th grade is now open.
Elevator Update
The elevator in the Rotz lobby (off the side of the Sanctuary) is currently out of service; the control system and electronics will receive a much-needed upgrade. If you are unable to navigate the three steps from the Rotz lobby into the Sanctuary, please use the exterior ramp located at the Sanctuary lobby entrance from the main parking lot. The elevator in the Baker Center can be used to reach all other levels.
College Grants
King Street’s Student Grant Program provides a grant to members/regular attenders who are enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program. We are accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year; download the application here and submit it before the deadline of July 12.
RESET
RESET meets on Monday nights at 6:30 pm in the Student Ministry Center. This is a place where you can be real, be authentic, and find community for growing in Christ. If you are feeling stuck in your spiritual journey, RESET is a powerful avenue of discipleship. Come and see!
- We are looking for childcare workers to serve during RESET on Monday evenings. Volunteers work alongside a partner to care for 6–8 children for about two hours, helping create a safe and welcoming space for families. This support is a vital way to serve, making it possible for parents to attend RESET and grow in their faith. Reach out to Susanna if you can help.
Prayer
We believe that God works powerfully through prayer!
- There is a table in each of our worship spaces and you’re invited to use it to take or leave a Prayer Card.
- You can also submit a request to our online Prayer Wall, or text pray to (717) 401-7777.
- Please feel free to stop by the Prayer Room (Central Hallway) anytime on Sunday morning! Check out the available resources! On the first and third Sundays of each month, Missy Ardinger will host a dedicated time of prayer for our church, community, nation and world. Everyone is welcome — whether you’d like to pray aloud, share requests, or simply sit quietly in God’s presence.
- Join “If My People Pray” on the first Monday of each month in M21 at 7:00 pm.

The Porch Young Adults
The Porch is a young adult ministry that exists to support and challenge one another while centering our lives on Jesus Christ. All young adults are invited, whether or not you attend King Street. The whole groups meets on the 1st/3rd Thursdays of each month in the Student Ministry Center at 7:00 pm. Men and women meet separately for small groups on the 2nd/4th Thursdays (resumes in fall). Visit us @ThePorchKSC (social media), our webpage, or email us.
Men’s Alliance Tribe
King Street Church has launched a Men’s Alliance tribe led by Justin Shirk. It’s a weekly gathering where men are strengthened through real brotherhood, biblical truth, and physical challenge. They meet each Saturday at 8:00 am behind the KSC Ministry Center for a 30 minute workout and devotional around a fire. Come build friendships, be encouraged, and take a step toward deeper spiritual growth.
Adult Sunday School
Sunday School classes are a place where adults can plug-in, make friends, become accountable, and share life with others. Classes serve as mini congregations that support missionaries, engage in ministries, and fellowship outside of class. We also offer Bible Studies for both men and women. See a list of adult Sunday School classes and links to the pages for men/women HERE.
- We are excited to offer a new Sunday school class for young adults! Together we will explore biblical teaching, guided discussion, and authentic community around topics shaped by leaders and the group alike. Join us at 11:00 am downstairs in room M28.

If you have never participated in the plan, we encourage you to join the more than 400 people who use these readings as part of their daily devotions. The plan is offered several ways. Those who are already signed up will be included in the new plan.
