Lenten Prayer Service: REPENTANCE & FORGIVENESS
On Wednesday, March 26, we gathered in the Sanctuary for our third Lenten Prayer Service. Pastor Steve Flint led a short study on the spiritual practices of Repentance and Forgiveness.
Benefits of Repentance:
- It is an act of changing direction and thinking differently. This repentant act is to redirect our minds to think like Christ.
- Repentance is a great gift of God freeing us from the pattern of sin, shame, and regret.
Benefits of Forgiveness:
- We are offered forgiveness and reconciliation with God due to His only Son Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
- We can experience true life, hope, and freedom today and for eternity
One of our church elders, Eldon Lehman, then shared information on RESET, our healing and recovery ministry, and our Local Outreach partners, so that we could pray together over them. You can see a list of these partners here: Local Outreach Ministries
The Disciplines in Practice:
Before next Wednesday’s prayer time on April 2, you are invited to meditate on the Scriptures and take inventory of your life. Be honest with yourself, confess your sin, repent, and receive forgiveness. Consider also how you should forgive others.
