Experience & Encounter
These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.
- We do not take comfort in retributive justice, but in a God who is just. Why do you think this is important for our relationships?
- The Author of Hebrews says that the blood of Jesus Christ speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. This means that while crying out and asking God for justice is right (Genesis 4:10 and Hebrews 11:4), it does not ultimately satisfy us or make us right with God. If there are situations in your life where you have cried out to God for justice but have not yet received it, take some time to reflect on Christ and his life given/his blood shed for you.
- Scripture consistently warns of rivalry and uneasy peace in relationships. Do you have important relationships that need to stop being competitive or where there needs to be stronger peace? While relationships require both participants for health, is there a role you have to play in helping these relationships toward health? What is it?
