Experience & Encounter

These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.

  1. Where do you see people experiencing “exile” in our world? How have you seen King Street Church, personally or corporately, be the church—the body of Jesus Christ—to a world in exile?
  2. The New Testament has several pictures the church, including as a flock of sheep (John 18:16-18), a temple (2 Cor. 6:16), the bride of Christ (Rev. 21:2), and the body of Christ (Col. 1:18; Eph. 5:23-24). Which of these pictures resonates with you? Is there one that you struggle with?
  3. Peter teaches that our identity as a people is rooted in being chosen by God. Christians belong to a people, the church, that extends beyond familial bonds, physical borders, and the bounds of time. Does that impact our living? If so, how? If not, how might it start to make a difference in our lives?
