Steve grew up in the United Brethren Church.  He received a BA in Music from Spring Arbor University, a Master of Christian Ministry degree from Huntington University and a Doctor of Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies.  He is an Ordained Pastor and also holds a Chaplain Endorsement with the Free Methodist Church.

He has served in the local church as a pastor, mostly in worship and music for over 30 years.  For a few years he was a Hospice Chaplain full time and Worship Pastor part time.

Steve says, “It is my passion and calling is to serve Christ and His Body, the local church, in the pursuit of Christ-centered worship.  Jesus said to the Samaritan women at a well in Sychar.”  He references John 4:23-24, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Steve further explains, “We must not be distracted or allured by the consummeristic culture we live in, but in our worship gatherings keep our mind, heart, and soul fixed on Jesus.  May we be the kind of worshipers who the Father seeks and worship Him in Spirit and in truth!  Amen!”

Steve has been married to “my favorite friend” Suzanne for over 30 years.  He says, “We still love just being together.”  Steve and Suzanne have three children: Amanda is a pastor of Youth and Worship in Fort Wayne, IN; Stuart is a middle school teacher in Lynchburg, VA; and Makenna is a senior at Chambersburg High School who hopes for a job in ministry and education.
