1. God’s prophetic word, while often difficult and even harsh, is to spur change in our lives. What does this tell us about God?
2. God’s promise of the Holy Spirit through Joel was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out by the ascended Jesus (Acts 2:33). To be a prophet means to speak on behalf of God. Because of Pentecost, you are part of the prophetic community. Do you think of yourself as a prophet? Why or why not?
3. You heard about Jesus because someone at Pentecost was sent by the Holy Spirit. To whom are you being sent? Who is one person that needs to hear about Jesus from you?
