God’s Story, Our Stories: Jesus, God Takes on Flesh in His Story
Experience & Encounter
These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.
- Pastor Aaron claimed that when we serve the wrong lord, we make less of ourselves and less of others, but that Jesus is the Lord who makes more of his servants and of his friends. How has Christ made more of you than you would have made of yourself? How is he continuing to make more of you? Where do you want to see God at work in your life?
- God enters his story directly as the Son of God takes on flesh in Jesus Christ. What does it tell you about God that God is willing to suffer–even death by crucifixion–as a human being?
- Proverbs 8 tells us about wisdom. Read Proverbs 8:32-36. This fall, we will consider part of Jesus’ teaching in a sermon series on the Beatitudes. Jesus is not only a wise teacher, but he is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24) on display for the world. How can we encourage each other to live wisely, to live according to the teaching of Jesus?
