Galatians: Confrontation in Christ
Experience & Encounter
These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.
- God’s gift of the Law to the Jewish people revealed that the Jewish people— and therefore all of us—need more than the Law. We need a Savior. Take some time to reflect on all the gifts God has given to us. While they are good gifts, they all reveal our need for Christ. Thank God for Christ above all.
- Take some time to consider how Christ’s life in you has made and is making you new. How are you different from the “old self” before Christ’s intervening work?
- Paul had significant conflict with Peter and others who wanted to connect their culture and tradition to the ways of Christ. Where are you tempted to connect your culture or tradition (even where it is good) to genuine faith in Jesus Christ? If Paul was writing to us, he probably wouldn’t write about circumcision. What are some cultural traditions that he might say we are placing too much trust in?
