NEWS FROM THE SEARCH TEAM

 (Updated 4/21/2015)

Both of the candidates that we invited for a second interview have asked to have their names withdrawn from consideration.

The Search Team met on Tuesday, April 21 to evaluate the process and determine our next steps.  Steve Shadle, our chairman, has been in discussion with our representative from the Vanderbloemen Search Group, Jay Mitchell.  Mr. Mitchell has outlined their steps going forward and plans to bring us a slate of 2-4 candidates on June 1.  The conclusion of the document he provided states the following:  “We are so grateful to be your partner in this important search.  Although we had hoped to have the position filled by now, we are not discouraged.  The pool of available talent is organic (it changes daily), so we have seen scores of tremendous candidates emerge during Phase II of a search.  We move forward with great confidence that the refined information you have provided in this document will yield the results we all want.”

Although the process is taking longer than we had anticipated, the Search Team is confident that God is in total control.

We continue to covet your prayers!  Please continue to pray that your search team will have clarity and that we might discern the heart of God and His will for the senior pastor at King Street.  Also, pray for unity among our body of believers here at King Street during this period of waiting on God.

Please remember that we are not dependent on the position of senior pastor—we are dependent on Jesus Christ!
