ALL-CHURCH PICNIC

Sunday, August 20, 4:00 pm at Norlo Park: Let’s celebrate the end of summer together — with food, worship and an outdoor baptismal service! Sign up in the lobbies. Hot dogs and paper products are provided. Bring a dessert or side dish, drinks for your family and lawn chairs.  Sign up now!

SUBMIT YOUR GRADES FOR STUDENT GRANTS

Deadline is Monday, July 24!  Students, NOW is the time to apply for your fall grants.  Applications are available on the Info Walls; you will also need to submit your grades.

SUMMER YOUTH EVENTS

  • Wednesday, August 2, 7:00-8:30 pm:  This is the final Street meeting of the summer! Students in grades 6-12, meet at Memorial Park for games, burgers, and hot dogs.
  • Sunday, August 6, 12:15-4:45 pm: Middle School students are invited for a pizza lunch in the SMC then a trip to Sky Zone. $24 fee includes lunch and jumping. Register by July 30 (forms are in the SMC welcome windows).

BOOK BAGS FOR LOCAL CHILDREN

Prep/sorting on Wednesday, August 2; Distribution on Thursday, August 3: Once again we have the opportunity to engage and bless our community with the Gospel by offering book bags filled with basic school supplies. We need your help! Pick up a card(s) from the displays in the lobbies and return items to the lobbies by July 30. If you can help to organize supplies or assist at the giveaway, contact Jeanie Helman at jhelman@kschurch.org or 264-4651 x206.

TRANSFORMATION ART EXHIBIT

Opening September 1; drop off art on August 6 & 13:  You still have a few weeks to prepare your piece for the art show! You don’t have to be a professional, and all mediums will be accepted (such as drawing, painting, illustration, photography, wood carving, ceramics, sculpture, etc.)  This exhibit is an exciting opportunity for us to share our creativity with others, and expand our understanding of Transformation.  Learn more or register your piece NOW!

JAZZ IN THE GARDEN: Hosted by NETwork Ministries

Friday, August 11 at the NETwork Community Garden, 7-9:00pm:  This event, hosted by a KSC ministry partner, features delicious appetizers, live music and artwork. King Street Church is excited to be hosting the Peacemaker Conference with the Executive Director of Peacemaker Ministries, Brian Noble.  The purpose of this interactive seminar is to equip you to have the healthiest relationships possible, even during a conflict and in spite of how others might respond. Come for any portion of the weekend.  There is no charge for any session, but Saturday’s workbook costs $25. VISION NIGHT FOR VOLUNTEERS

If you are a volunteer here at KSC in any facet of ministry, we invite you to come hear Pastor Jody share his vision for the upcoming year.  We hope that this night of worship, prayer, and fellowship will be an uplifting time together.

COMPASSION EXPERIENCE

September 8-11, Ministry Center Parking Lot
Step into homes in Uganda, visit markets in India and see schools in Bolivia — the powerful stories of real children will be brought to life inside of trailers and tents right here on our church property. This immersive event from Compassion International ultimately illustrates the hope of Christ.

RESERVED PARKING: SINGLE PARENTS

If you are a single parent with small children, we invite you to use one of the four designated parking spaces in the Baker Center lot that are reserved for your convenience.

RIGHT NOW MEDIA

KSC has a subscription to Right Now Media, which is sometimes called “The Christian Netflix.”  It offers thousands of hours of free Bible studies and videos from teachers such as Francis Chan, Max Lucado, Chip Ingram and Andy Stanley.  There is also a section for kids.  Many Bible studies and classes here at KSC are already using it.  We believe this free resource can be a vital tool for growth in your Christian life.  If you haven’t received an invitation in your email inbox, email sallen@kschurch.org.
