After-School Program: Project 2019

Every year we do a very special project with the children in our After-School Program. They get to choose a ministry and raise money for it, with their OWN hard work!

This year they have chosen to bless the children who attend our sister church and school in Arcahaie, Haiti. Our partnership with Arcahaie has spanned several years. We have worked alongside this precious church body to help build their new church, train their parents and teachers, sponsor the children, gift the school with supplies, provide resources for school lunches, and more. At the same time, the people of Arcahaie have inspired us with their faithfulness, courage, joy, and devotion to the Lord. How beautiful that the children in our After-School Program have a heart to bless these kids!

The children earn tokens valued at 50 cents for good behavior, attendance, helpfulness, and random acts of kindness. Then sponsors in the church (that’s you!) back up the tokens with real money. We call it “getting to give” and the kids really love it! We are able to help kids in Haiti, while our After-School kids build LIFE- CHANGING character in their hearts.

A sponsor agrees to:

  • Back their tokens with real money. The average donation is $100-160. ALL the proceeds will go to Archaie, Haiti.
  • Meet your After-School Child at our kick-off meal on Monday, February 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the Baker Center Gym, and also hear more about the needs in Haiti.
  • Promise to pray for your child and offer encouragement thru random visits to the After School program or notes. We will supply you with a prayer card.
  • Attend the Celebration Dinner on Tuesday, April 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the Baker Center Gym, where we announce the total amount earned.

Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a child, and the things you are agreeing to do. The children really do look forward to meeting you. You’re an adult who can speak hope and encouragement into their lives. It is a lot more than giving money. Questions?
