DESCRIPTION:The Porch is the young adult ministry at King Street Church. We welcome all young adults to get connected\, even if you’re not an attender of King Street Church. We come from different backgrounds and life stages\, but what we share is a desire to build authentic community and grow in our faith and affection for Jesus Christ (Phil. 2:1-11). \nOn the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month\, we have opportunities to build deeper community in gender-specific discipleship groups. In addition to community\, the main focus of these groups is to dig into God’s Word and study other Biblical-centered books & devotionals that will help us to become more equipped disciples of Jesus Christ! The group meeting locations can change\, so if you are interested in joining a group: contact us. \nOur large group gatherings take place on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in the Student Ministry Center from 7-9PM; enter through the Baker Center lobby (Door #4 and go down the stairs). SUMMARY:Good Friday: Stations of the Cross
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, April 18\, is our “Way of the Cross” Contemplative Experience. The purpose of this event is to allow us a window into what Christ suffered on Good Friday through eight unique stations.  The stations are designed to help us better understand the depth of Christ’s sacrifice. Then when we celebrate His resurrection on Sunday\, we can be filled\, more authentically\, with joy and relief that He triumphed over death. \nHere are some key details: \n\nCome anytime from 12-8 pm and plan to stay for at least 45 minutes\, but longer if you wish.\nEnter through the Baker Center entrance\, and head downstairs.\nThe experience is predominantly self-guided\, and is geared toward silent reflection and individual encounters.\nWe will provide a booklet for you to use at each station.\nPastor Rob Gunkelman and Lay Leader Jean Ellis will both be available during the day to answer questions and to pray with you.\nThe event is best suited to teenagers and adults. Children are welcome but we ask that parents travel intentionally through the stations with their kids\, helping them to respect the tone and understand what is happening.

DESCRIPTION:The Porch is the young adult ministry at King Street Church. We welcome all young adults to get connected\, even if you’re not an attender of King Street Church. We come from different backgrounds and life stages\, but what we share is a desire to build authentic community and grow in our faith and affection for Jesus Christ (Phil. 2:1-11). \nOur large group gatherings take place on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in the Student Ministry Center from 7-9PM; enter through the Baker Center lobby (Door #4 and go down the stairs). At these gatherings\, we seek to build relationships\, share life together\, and gain practical and applicable insight from God’s Word to apply to our lives. \nOn the 2nd and 4th Thursdays\, we have opportunities to build deeper community in gender-specific discipleship groups. In addition to community\, the main focus of these groups is to dig into God’s Word and study other Biblical-centered books & devotionals that will help us to become more equipped disciples of Jesus Christ!
