Pastors Rob Gunkelman & Adam Keath
Abundant Life
“Are You Ready for a Savior?”

Experience & Encounter

(These questions are an invitation to experience your life with God. Use them on your own or in community as you seek to follow Jesus.)

  1. What are some past experiences or mistakes that might keep you from experiencing the life that God wants you to experience?
  2. In what ways are you similar to Barabbas and how he interacted with Jesus?
  3. When you read Hebrews 12:2, what does it mean to you that Jesus was joyfully able to endure the cross in our place? What made Him joyful? What is the difference between joy and happiness?

We’re so glad for the chance to worship God with you today!  Pastor Rob Gunkelman and Pastor Adam Keath are sharing the message “Are You Ready for a Savior?” as part of our celebration of Christ’s resurrection.  Other special elements include:

  • Photo Opportunity: Have a family photo taken in front of one of our Easter backdrops. One is located in the Baker Center lobby; the other is in the Rotz foyer, which is to the side of the Sanctuary.  Ask any greeter or welcome center assistant for directions.
  • Children’s Bags: We have a bag of goodies for kids in Kindergarten-3rd grade.  If you missed picking one up on the way in, those are available for you in the lobbies.  We also offer our preschool classes and nursery at 9:30 and 11:00.
  • Easter Flowers: If you dedicated flowers in honor of, or in memory of a loved one, be sure to get a dedication booklet from the lobby, and feel free to take your flower after our services, or Monday from the Baker Center lobby.

Easter Baptisms: Celebrating New Life!

Today we are witnessing the baptisms of 11 people; it is a public profession of their faith and their new life in Christ. Read their testimonies here.  Our next baptisms will take place on Sunday, May 19, at the All-Church Outdoor Service. The next meeting for those wishing to be baptized will be held Sunday, May 5, at 11:00 am in Team Central (M119).

Coming Soon

Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

  • All-Church Outdoor Service:  Save the date for our All-Church Worship Service outside on Sunday, May 19, at 10:00 am. We’re excited to come together as one large church body to worship God, hear a message from God’s Word and celebrate how God is working at King Street Church.  This special service will take place in the Baker Center parking lot (bring a chair!) and will replace our normal Sunday schedule. We’ve invited several food trucks to join us on-site after worship, so we hope you’ll stay for lunch and connect with others.
  • Vacation Bible School:  We are looking forward to Vacation Bible School, Sunday through Wednesday, June 23-26. The theme is Breaker Rock Beach, God’s rock-solid truth in a world of shifting sands (Romans 12:2). Save the date for this important annual event and consider how you can take part.  Registration will open in May.

Help Needed at Agape

Our Agape English Ministry continues to thrive!  We are now serving more than 120 people every week who want to learn English.  You do not need to know another language or have any teaching experience to help.  We have a variety of times and are willing to use people for as little or as often as suits their schedule!  If you are interested in learning more about helping at Agape, email Sue Marshall, Agape English Ministries Coordinator or call/text (717) 658-2416.  Time slots include Tuesday and Wednesday (10 am—12 noon), Wednesday (6-8:00 pm) and Saturday (3:30-5 pm and 5-6:00 pm.)   Needed roles include:

  • Teachers to engage with a small class
  • Tutors to work one-on-one with a student, helping them with literacy skills
  • Tech Helpers to assist students in getting signed onto the computer so that they can use Rosetta Stone software; you’d be helping a student with limited computer experience; if you use your own computer regularly, you are qualified!
  • Greeters to make sure people sign the book and get their name tag

Bible Reading Plan 2024: New Testament

It is important to read the Bible daily, and that is why we offer an annual Bible Reading Plan.  If you have never participated in the plan, we encourage you to join the more than 400 people who use these readings as part of their daily devotions.  If you are not already signed up to receive daily readings to your email inbox, sign up at bible.kingstreetchurch.com.  You can also receive daily text readings by texting DAILY to 717-401-7777.  A paper guide is available in the lobbies or right here:  New Testament 2024 Bible Reading Plan (pdf download)

Weekend Preview Emails

Most weeks, we send out a church email called the Weekend Preview which highlights a key event, ministry, or an element of upcoming worship services.  Often the information shared in this email is not offered elsewhere.  If you would like to receive the Weekend Preview, sign up here or text keyword PREVIEW to (717) 401-7777.
